That plastic shed I bought started sagging after 3 months of summer heat
I got one of those cheap resin sheds from a big box store back in May (you know, the kind everyone recommends for easy assembly). By August the roof panels were visibly drooping in the middle like a sad tent. The walls actually warped outward at the seams too, so the doors wouldn't latch right. I measured the temperature inside on a 95 degree day and it hit 140 degrees, which I'm pretty sure just cooked the plastic into a new shape. Has anyone found a material that actually holds up to direct sun in hot climates like Oklahoma summer?

Man those cheap resin sheds are TERRIBLE in real heat. I had the same problem with a different brand down here in Texas. The roof just caved in after a few months and the walls got all wavy like an old record. The thing that actually worked for me was getting a metal shed with a wood frame inside. I put up one of those arrow brand galvanized steel sheds and painted the roof white to reflect the sun. It gets hot inside still but no sagging or warping at all after two summers now. The metal does get loud during rain but I'll take that over melted plastic any day.

lol so basically plastic sheds are just giant Tupperware in the sun. I bet one good hailstorm and that thing would sound like a drum solo from hell.

Three 20x12 resin sheds I installed here in the PNW have been sitting through constant rain and the occasional freak hail for five years now without a single crack or warped panel. The secret is actually buying from a company that uses UV-stabilized polypropylene instead of the cheap recycled stuff most big box stores sell, and welding the seams instead of using those plastic rivets. @charles836 I figure if hail can wreck your shed, a tree falling on a metal one makes it a crumpled tinfoil sandwich while the resin one just bounces back, so pick your poison.
