Almost poured a footing off by 18 inches because I trusted my phone's calculator

Last month in Boise, I used the calculator app to add up three measurements for a patio slab. The phone auto-formatted one number from 12.5 to 12.50 and another from 8.25 to 8.25, but I didn't notice it dropped a decimal on the 12.5 when I hit equals. The total came out 1.5 feet short, so I re-measured with the tape and caught it before pouring. Anyone else ever have a calculator quietly eat a decimal and cost you a redo?
