Can we talk about the time I flipped a coin to pick my college major and the coin landed on its edge?
I was 18, sitting in a diner in Dayton with my two best friends, and I had narrowed it down to either biology or English. I pulled a quarter out of my pocket and said heads for bio, tails for English, then flipped it onto the table. It rolled under a napkin and when I lifted the napkin it was standing straight up on its edge, leaning against a salt shaker. My friend Marcus said that means I get to pick, so I went with biology and hated it for two semesters before switching to English anyway. What are the odds of a coin landing on its edge, like 1 in 6000 or something? Anyone else have a random flip backfire like that?
