Unpopular opinion: I stopped estimating grocery totals in my head and switched to a $1 notebook
I used to round everything up to the next dollar in my head at the store in Tacoma, and my total was always off by like 8 to 12 bucks. Last month I started writing each price down in a little notebook while I shop, then adding it up with the calculator on my phone at the end. Turns out milk was the thing messing me up because I kept counting the gallon at $5 when it's $3.78 here. Now my total is within a quarter almost every trip, and the cashiers think I'm doing some kind of coupon thing. Does anyone else keep a running list on paper, or is that just me being weird?
