Guy on my Facebook feed swore 9 out of 10 startups fail because of bad logos, so I actually looked it up
Saw this post from a guy named Dale in a business group ranting that 90 percent of startups die in year one and it's all because they picked a weak logo. He said he read it in some marketing newsletter back in 2019 and has been repeating it ever since. Took me two minutes to find the real number, which is closer to 20 percent in the first year, and the top reasons are no market need and running out of cash, not font choices. What's the worst stat someone has repeated at you like it was fact?
Used to buy into that whole "startups fail because of branding" thing too, until a friend of mine ran a company into the ground with a gorgeous logo and zero customers. The numbers don't lie, it's always cash or nobody wanting the product.
