Rented a Fluke insulation tester for a weekend rewire in my 1920s bungalow near Tacoma, it read clean on every circuit, so I buttoned everything up and the breaker tripped twice before I found the frayed neutral hidden in the wall, anyone else ever trust a tool over your gut and get burned?

Read clean on every circuit" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there. Did you happen to test under load, or was it just sitting there measuring with nothing actually drawing power?
