The 90 second Instagram reel about 'instant muscle memory' that made zero sense
I saw a fitness influencer claim that taking 3 weeks off from lifting actually helps you gain muscle because your body 'remembers' the workouts it missed. It got 2 million views. The logic falls apart if you know basic biology: muscle growth happens during recovery, not absence. Three weeks of no training means less protein synthesis, not more. That reel also said skipping workouts 'confuses the muscle into growing,' which is the same nonsense as saying a car runs better with less gas. Has anyone else noticed how these takes survive because they sound deep but have no numbers or studies behind them?
