Coworker swore you only need 3 tools for any floor job, and I about choked on my sandwich
Was eating lunch with a guy from another crew and he goes, straight faced, that a pry bar, a chalk line, and a hammer handle every single install. I just set my sandwich down and asked him how he cuts anything, and he says he snaps it with a utility knife and prays. Mind you, this is the same guy who called me at 9pm asking to borrow my tapping block and my pull bar. Where do people even get these takes, is it a youtube comment section or just pure confidence with zero jobs behind it? Somebody please tell me you've heard worse than that one.
Ha, I used to wave off the fancy tool lists too and figured the old heads were just selling something. Then I spent a whole afternoon fighting one board into place because I had no tapping block, and my pull bar saved me the next week on a tight row against a wall. Now I keep the basics in the truck and admit that guy is just lucky he hasnt hit a job that humbles him yet.
