Found a 2017 comment that nailed the exact timeline of the housing crash back in March 2020

I was scrolling through a YouTube video about real estate investing from 5 years ago and spotted this one comment from some random user named "Mike_TX_2020" who said prices would peak in early 2022 and then drop 15%. My jaw dropped because I checked the date on it and he posted that in 2017, three years before the pandemic even started. Has anyone else stumbled across an old prediction online that turned out to be freakishly accurate?

My buddy once guessed the exact Super Bowl score during the third quarter of the previous game.

That "Joe from Ohio" guy sounds like he was onto something big with the lumber call. I've seen a few old forum posts about copper prices too, where someone predicted the shortage back in 2018 and people laughed at them. It makes you wonder how many random folks just have the right info or gut feeling while everyone else is sleeping on it. Have you ever gone back and checked if Joe posted anything else that turned out right?

Oh man, stuff like that gives me chills. I remember back in 2019 I was reading a blog about the housing market and some guy named "Joe from Ohio" had a post where he said, "mark my words, lumber prices will triple in two years and nobody is ready for it." At the time I thought he was just some old grumpy carpenter. Then 2021 hit and lumber went absolutely nuts. I still wonder what kind of crystal ball this guy had or if he just knew something about supply chains nobody else was paying attention to.
