Hot take: TikTok 'manifestation coaches' convinced a friend to quit her job over a vision board

Was catching up with my buddy in Phoenix last week and she told me she paid $300 to a woman with 40k followers who said her 'frequency was off' and that she should quit her 9 to 5 that Friday. The video didn't even show before and after proof, just a sunset and a private jet. I get wanting a change, but 20 seconds of someone yelling 'believe harder' isn't career advice. Has anyone else seen these accounts fleece people with zero actual credentials?

My buddy Marcus got burned by the same kind of scam two years ago, paid $400 up front for a "spiritual cleanse" that was supposed to fix his money problems. He kept asking for a refund and the woman just kept saying the universe would repay him in other ways, which basically meant nothing. Finally he threatened to dispute it with his bank and she blocked him everywhere, no money back, no explanation. The whole thing taught him to never pay for advice that comes with a crystal and a payment link, @emma_garcia. So yeah, she likely got nothing but a "lesson" too, and that lesson probably cost her a few hundred bucks. The worst part is these people know exactly how to make you feel foolish for even asking.
