I finally saw the $800 budget studio video that's been praised for months

Last week I watched that viral video where a guy claims to build a whole music studio for 800 bucks using free plugins and a $50 mic, but he conveniently leaves out the $1,200 interface and acoustic foam he bought three years ago, so has anyone else noticed these 'cheap setup' videos always skip the hidden costs?

Did you catch how he only shows the room for like two seconds with the lights off?... Reminds me of when I tried to record vocals with a blanket fort to save money, ended up sounding like I was singing from inside a washing machine. That extra $200 for a proper mic stand and cables never makes it into the final edit, they always pretend the gear fairy showed up.
