That influencer who said 'just manifest a raise' made me lose it

I followed her advice for 6 months, vision boards and all, and my boss literally laughed when I asked. Ended up getting a 3% raise by actually listing my accomplishments on paper instead.

Manifesting is just rebranded positive thinking, and it only works if you already have the social pull to make things happen. Did she ever actually say what happens when the universe says no, or did she just sell you a fantasy where effort doesnt matter? Because the whole vision board thing seems like a way to make you feel productive without doing the scary part of asking for what you want. Like, did she coach you on how to handle rejection when your boss laughs? Or is the next step to sell you a course on why you didnt manifest hard enough?

Wait, "the universe says no"? That actually made me laugh out loud. Did she seriously never address what happens when reality just doesn't cooperate with your Pinterest board?

Isn't that the whole point though? I remember trying one of those manifesting workshops and when I asked what to do if the thing you want never shows up, they just told me I wasn't being "open enough" and needed to buy their advanced course. Really felt like gaslighting dressed up in sage and crystals if you ask me.
