That youtube dude said cold crashing is for impatient brewers
Saw this video from a homebrew guy who swore up and down that cold crashing was a waste of time and ruined the beer's body. I used to skip it because I listened to him for like 6 months, and my IPAs always came out cloudy and weird. Last batch I finally tried it again and the clarity difference was insane. Has anyone else run into bad brewing advice that set them back for awhile?

That whole "cold crashing ruins body" thing is probably the worst advice I ever followed. I believed it for like a year and my beers always had that weird chill haze that never dropped out. Once I finally tried cold crashing again, my IPAs went from looking like orange juice to crystal clear in like two days. What did that batch taste like for you? Did it seem muted or the same as the cloudy ones? I'm always curious if the haze actually changes flavor or if it's just a looks thing.

Wait, did you used to skip cold crashing too? I was totally on board with the whole "it strips mouthfeel" thing until I tried a side by side with a pale ale. The crashed one was actually brighter and crisper, not thin at all. I tasted them blind and honestly couldn't tell which had more body, but the clear one looked so much better in the glass. Made me realize I was just being stubborn about an old myth.
