Unpopular opinion: That viral "science says listening to Mozart makes you smarter" post is totally misleading
I saw someone sharing that old study on Twitter like it was breaking news, saying kids should listen to classical music daily to boost IQ. The problem is that original 1993 study only found a tiny 8 to 9 point spatial reasoning boost that lasted maybe 10 minutes. It never said anything about long term intelligence gains. Has anyone else noticed how these pop science posts strip out all the real context?

Simple fix is to just mute the thread once you've made your point. People are gonna pile on regardless of what you say, so there's no point sticking around to defend yourself. I've had it happen where I posted something innocent and woke up to 50 notifications from folks who didn't even read my original reply. Just drop your two cents and walk away. That way you don't get dragged into some pointless back and forth that goes nowhere.
