Hit 100 episodes of that dancing show marathon and realized I know 4 of the dancers by name
So I have this thing where I put on old dancing competition shows while I eat lunch, and last week I finally hit episode 100 of one season. I did the math and that is about 70 hours of my life, which sounds bad until you remember I did it in 30 minute chunks over 6 months. The wild part is I can now name 4 dancers and predict who gets cut based on the edit they get in the first 5 minutes. My wife walked in during episode 87 and asked why I was yelling at the TV about a jazz routine from 2009. I think the reason I keep going is the judges say the same 6 phrases every single time and it feels weirdly calming. Does anyone else have a show they hit triple digits on and just never quit?
That's 70 hours you're never getting back but the judge catchphrases thing is real. I've watched every season of a certain cooking show at least twice and I can call the winner in episode one based on who gets the sad backstory edit. My wife thinks I need a hobby but I have hobbies, this is just background noise that doesn't make me think too hard.
