Watched 38 episodes of a 1996 show about a talking jeep and now I defend it like it's prestige TV
Found a channel out of Bakersfield running a syndicated show where a mechanic solves crimes with a jeep that only he can hear talk. The effects are cardboard, the acting is worse, and I've now seen 38 episodes because it plays at 2am when I can't sleep. Half of me says this is brain rot and the other half says it's the only thing that calms my head after a long day. Is a show automatically bad if it works as a sleep aid, or does that make it secretly good?
There's a thing I read about where tv execs used to call shows like that "furniture" because they were made to fill air time, not to be watched closely. 2am slots were built for that. A show can be junk and still do its job, those aren't the same question. If it settles your head at 2am, it's doing more than most shows I actually like.
