Why does everyone love that show with the talking dog lawyer?

Last month my friend group made me watch 'Justice Paws' because they swear it's the funniest thing on streaming. I sat through 4 episodes of a golden retriever objecting in court and somehow winning cases based on scent evidence. I kept waiting for the joke to land but it never did. Three years ago I would have turned it off in 10 minutes, but now I catch myself humming the theme song at work. Is this what comfort TV does to a person, or am I just losing my standards? Has anyone else been dragged into a show they hate only to secretly start liking it?

Four episodes in, the joke is that there's no joke, it's just a warm blanket of a show. The scent evidence thing is silly, but so is most TV if you stare at it hard enough. I think comfort TV works because it asks nothing from you, and that's exactly why we all end up humming the theme song.
