I set a 3 AM alarm for my sourdough, and it let me down

The recipe said it would be ready by morning, but the dough was still flat. Now I have no bread for the family gathering today.

See, that's the worst part when a recipe gives you a false timeline. Sourdough has its own schedule and it just doesn't care about your plans. What are you even supposed to tell everyone now?

Sourdown failures just show how much daily life runs on false promises. Recipes, traffic reports, even people saying they'll be on time. It's all guesswork dressed up as a plan. Stone.daniel is right about the yeast gods, but really it's everything refusing to follow a schedule. The dough just does what it wants, like the rest of the world.
