Just realized my oven runs 25 degrees cooler than the dial says
Checked it with a thermometer after my cookies kept coming out raw in the middle. Anyone else have to adjust their oven temp way more than they expected?

My buddy had the same exact problem with his new apartment oven! He kept burning every single pizza until he finally got an oven thermometer. Turns out the thing was running almost 40 degrees hot. He just marks the correct temp on the dial with a little piece of tape now. It made a huge difference for his baking.

Yeah, I read most ovens are off by like 25 degrees!

Isn't it weird how many basic things are just slightly off? Like thermostats that lie or clocks that run fast, it feels like we're always doing small mental corrections. It makes you wonder what else we just accept as accurate without really checking.
