Rant: My oven died during a bake sale at the Cedar Rapids farmers market and I had to fake it with store cookies
I signed up for the Saturday market in Cedar Rapids two weeks ago and my oven heating element went out the night before while I was doing my final batch of snickerdoodles. I ended up at the Hy-Vee on Collins Road at 6am buying two packs of their bakery sugar cookies and sliding them onto my own parchment paper so nobody would know. Has anyone else had a piece of equipment quit right before a big event, and did you just buy your way out of it too?
