Spent $80 on a fancy silicone baking mat and now I'm back to parchment paper

I bought this supposedly premium silicone mat last month from a kitchen supply store. Cost me about $80 and it was supposed to be non-stick forever. First batch of cookies stuck like glue and the mat started curling up at the edges after three uses. I tried washing it carefully but the surface got all blotchy looking. My old parchment paper rolls cost maybe $3 each and never let me down. Has anyone else had trouble with those expensive mats or did I just pick a bad brand?

I've got two of those mats warped in the drawer right now.

Honestly, I gotta push back on that. Maybe I got lucky, but I've had mine for a few years and they're still flat as a board.

See that's what I don't get, "two of those mats warped in the drawer right now" - but whose fault is that really? I bet you're stacking them face to face or storing them somewhere damp or something. My brother-in-law ruined his whole set by leaving them in a hot trunk for a week and then complained about it on Facebook. People don't take care of their stuff anymore, they just blame the product. I've got mats that are ten years old and still flat because I follow the simple rule of never rolling them tight and keeping them in a cool dry place.
