That fancy Italian flour cost me $45 for nothing

Bought a bag of Caputo '00' flour from a specialty shop online. Supposed to be the best for pizza dough. Tried three times and it just wouldn't hold together right in my home oven. Stick with all-purpose from the grocery store unless you've got a wood-fired setup. Anyone else fall for expensive ingredients that just didn't work?

Forty five bucks for flour? That's insane.

Right? @emma_wells83 I paid almost fifty bucks for a bag of organic spelt last week and nearly choked on the price.

Forty five dollars for flour is basically paying for the fancy bag at that point. My wife bought some expensive baking chocolate once that tasted no different than the cheap stuff. Real waste of money. Better off spending that cash on good cheese or toppings. The oven matters way more than the flour anyway.
