That caramel smell is actually sugar burning at around 340 degrees Fahrenheit. It's not a mood, it's a sign your oven's running hot or something spilled. Appliances don't get bored, they just have worn out parts or bad sensors. My old microwave started sparking because the coating inside wore off, not because it was feeling dramatic. Giving them personalities is fun until you ignore a real problem that could start a fire.

Okay but are we really giving appliances this much credit? It's just old crumbs and a broken heating element, not some deep statement. My blender makes weird noises too but I'm pretty sure it's just dying, not sending coded messages. Sometimes a burnt snack is just a burnt snack.
