A regular told me my neckline trims looked 'nervous' and it stung but he was right

I was rushing them at the end of appointments. Now I slow down and use my trimmer like a pencil, taking an extra two minutes to get it crisp. Anyone have a different method for cleaning up necklines?

Oh man, that's such a good way to put it! I used to rush mine too, and now I always do a second pass with a fresh razor just on the edges.

Honestly I never saw the point in a second pass until I tried it. Figured one quick shave was enough, but I'd always have rough spots by afternoon. Now I give it a minute and go over the edges again, and it's actually smooth all day. Why did I fight this for so long?

My barber told me to wait five minutes after the first shave before going over the edges again. It lets your skin settle so you don't get those red bumps. I keep a second cheap razor just for that clean-up pass, it makes a huge difference. Rushing just leaves you with patches you'll notice by lunchtime. Why put in the work if you're not going to finish it right?

Ever try a cold splash of water before that second pass? Seems to work for me and @rowanw11's rough spots.
