Bought a cheap clipper guard set from a market stall... big mistake
I grabbed a set of plastic guards for $15 because my old ones were getting worn. First cut with the new #2 guard and it just snapped in half mid-fade... had to stop everything and explain to the client. Lost the whole haircut fee, which was $30, and my time. Anyone know a brand that actually holds up?

That "big mistake" is a painful lesson. I learned the hard way too, cheap guards cost more in lost time and trust than they save.

Cheap tools are just expensive lessons in disguise.

Come on, is it really that deep? It's a piece of plastic for a hair clipper. I've used the cheap ones for years and maybe one breaks, so you grab another from the pack. It's not like the clipper itself dies. Lost trust? Over a guard? That feels like a stretch.
