Finally figured out why my clipper blades were pulling after 3 months of frustration
I kept having my blades pull and snag on coarse hair even after oiling them, thought I was going crazy. Tried cleaning them with a toothbrush and some 99% alcohol and it totally fixed the issue - guess the buildup was way worse than I thought. Any other barbers run into this with packed schedules and just need a better cleaning routine?

A little spray bottle with alcohol works great for a quick clean between clients if you're in a rush! I keep one right by my station and just hit the blades after every haircut now.

Quick clean between clients" is all I needed to hear. That alcohol trick saves time but also keeps the gunk from building up between deep cleans. Gotta try it out this week for sure.

Oh man, I'm actually going to disagree a bit here @nancy_king29! I've tried the alcohol spray thing and it works okay for a quick wipe, but I feel like it dries out the blades way faster over time. I'd rather take the extra 30 seconds to use a clipper oil wipe or just a dry brush between clients. Alcohol strips the protective coating on some blades I've noticed, especially cheaper ones. For me it's worth the tiny bit of extra time to keep things lubricated and running smooth. But hey if it works for your setup and you're not seeing any wear issues, then keep doing you!
