Had a guy in the chair yesterday who suddenly jerked his head during a straight razor neckline.

We were in my shop in Springfield, and I nicked him just below the ear. I stopped, applied pressure with a clean towel, and told him straight up what happened. How do you handle a client who moves unexpectedly like that?

Honestly, I read a barber saying they always rest the razor hand on the client's head for stability.

Hmm... I kinda get it but I'm not sure I'd want that. Feels like it could be a little distracting or even push my head off balance if they lean too hard. I'd rather they just keep a light touch with the other hand.

Yeah that makes total sense. My barber does the same thing. He'll rest his pinky or the side of his hand right on my temple or the back of my head. Lets him make those super clean lines around the ears. You can tell it gives him way more control. Feels steady and safe, honestly.

Oh for sure! It's a total pro move, makes the cut way more precise.
