Just realized my clipper tension was ruining fades for months

A kid in my chair said his last fade looked chewed up and pointed out the blade was loose, so I checked and the tension screw had backed out halfway since I'd never touched it after the factory set, and now I check it before every cut, but has anyone else found that the factory adjustment drifts over time or is it just me?
