Just realized my comb angle was off for years after a kid pointed it out
A 10 year old client asked why I was 'poking' his head, and I saw I was holding the comb almost vertical instead of following his head shape. Anyone else have a simple habit they had to unlearn?

Took me a decade to realize I was holding a pencil wrong (seriously, it was a whole thing).

Honestly, that pencil thing hits home. I had to relearn how to hold a kitchen knife after a chef friend winced at me. You get so used to your own way you stop seeing it.

My dad taught me to hold a hammer at a 45 degree angle for better control, and I did it wrong for years until a coworker showed me the wrist strain I was causing. It's like @the_viola and the pencil, these small muscle memories get locked in. You don't even feel the extra effort until someone points it out.
