Just realized my old shears were making my wrist hurt
I switched to a pair of offset shears from Kamikoto last month and the pain in my right wrist is completely gone. I didn't think the grip angle would matter that much, but it totally changed my day. Anyone else find a tool that fixed a nagging problem like that?

Oh, that's such a good point about tool design. I read an article a while back about how even a small change in the angle of a handle can take pressure off your tendons. It makes total sense that your shears fixed your wrist pain. We just get used to fighting with our tools and think the ache is normal. It's smart to pay attention to that kind of feedback from your body. Finding the right fit really does make all the difference.

Yeah, the part about getting used to fighting with our tools really hit me. I had that same dull ache in my shoulder for years from my old rake, just wrote it off as part of the job. Finally switched to a lighter one with a different grip and it was like a cloud lifted. It's crazy what we put up with because we think it's supposed to hurt. Your body telling you something's wrong is a sign to listen, not just push harder.

My first pair of work boots gave me blisters so bad I could barely walk after a shift. I just kept wearing thicker socks and telling myself "broken in" meant "broken feet." It took me six months to admit defeat and buy a different pair. The relief was instant, and I felt like a total idiot for all the needless pain. We really do treat our own comfort like it's the enemy sometimes.
