My clippers died mid-fade on a regular client Tuesday afternoon

I was about 3 minutes from finishing a high fade on Dave, my guy who comes every 2 weeks like clockwork, when my Wahl Seniors just quit. No sputtering, no warning, just dead silence in the middle of his left temple. I had to finish the whole thing with a trimmer and shears, took me an extra 25 minutes to clean it up decently. Anyone else ever have a main tool fail on them during a cut and have to MacGyver the rest of it?

Oh man, that's brutal! I used to think having a fancy backup pair of clippers was overkill (like, who really needs that?), but after my Andis Master just died mid-bald-fade last spring, I completely changed my tune. I spent 20 minutes with a trimmer and a prayer trying to save that cut, and let me tell you, it was a hot mess. Now I keep a cheap backup pair in my drawer just for emergencies, because that panic of a dead motor is something I never want to feel again. Respect for finishing that fade with shears though, you must have steady hands!

Right? Same thing happened to me with my Oster 76 last month, total nightmare.
