My cordless clipper battery gave out mid-fade on a Saturday rush

It happened last weekend right in the middle of a skin fade. The clipper just died, no warning, with a line half done. I had to grab my old corded backup, but the switch threw off my whole flow and the cut took twice as long. The battery was only about 18 months old, which feels too soon. What's a good backup plan or a more reliable brand for cordless clippers that last?

18 months and it's already a crisis?

Wait, are you serious? It feels like it just started yesterday. How can everything go so wrong in less than two years? That's barely any time at all to fix things. This is moving way too fast.

Tell me about it, I feel like we're all stuck on one of those fast conveyor belts at the airport and someone just hit the turbo button. Two years is nothing, you can't even get a decent houseplant to settle in that time. Maybe we all just blinked and missed the part where things were supposed to get better. Honestly at this point I'm just waiting for the next weird thing to go wrong.
