My Tuesday was a total mess after a kid got sick in my chair

I was halfway through a skin fade on a 7 year old named Ben when he suddenly threw up all over my station and my clippers. I had to shut down for an hour to clean everything with disinfectant, and I lost two appointments. What's the fastest way you guys handle a biohazard cleanup without ruining your whole day?

Man, I used to try and clean that stuff up myself to save time. One bad stomach bug going through the shop changed my whole view. Now I keep a sealed biohazard spill kit right under my station. It has those powder granules that turn liquid into gel, plus heavy duty bags and gloves. I dump the powder, scoop the solid mess into the bag, then hit the area with the disinfectant wipes from the kit. It cuts the cleanup down to maybe twenty minutes tops. The kit cost feels worth it when you don't lose half your day.

Totally agree about the biohazard kit being a lifesaver. Had a client pass out and hit their head once, and that kit made dealing with the blood so much faster. It really does stop your whole schedule from blowing up.

My shop's biohazard kit saved me after a similar incident last month.

I get why @kelly.troy likes the kit, but shutting down for a full disinfect is non-negotiable. That twenty minute clean just isn't enough for real safety. You can't risk making your next client sick over a lost appointment.
