Noticed a big difference switching from clippers to shears for fading

I was at a barber expo in Cleveland last month and watched a guy do a fade with only shears and a comb. Tried it myself on a regular client Wednesday and the blend came out smoother than I ever got with clippers. Took longer for sure, but the result was worth it. Anyone else here use shears for fades or is that just a show-off thing?

Hell yeah! Shears for fades are legit. I tried it on a buddy last week and the blend was way cleaner than my clippers ever got. It takes patience but the payoff is real.

300 bucks and two hours later my buddy looked like a half-plucked chicken. @lee689 you owe me dinner for that disaster.

Bet it looked worse than it actually was, lighting always makes bad haircuts look even worse. @lee689 probably thinks shears are magic but they're just as easy to mess up if you don't know what you're doing. Real talk though have yall ever tried using a vacuum attachment with clippers? Saves the cleanup time and keeps the hair off your neck. Still gotta watch the blend but at least you won't be finding hair in your socks for a week.
