Picked a cheaper clipper over the brand name and it almost cost me a client

I was dead set on upgrading from my Wahl Seniors to something new for fade work. Made the call to go with a $40 knockoff clipper from Amazon instead of dropping $200 on the Oster 76s. First two cuts were fine, but on the third one the blade started chewing up the guy's hairline. Had to scramble and finish with my old Seniors while the guy sat there looking annoyed. Anyone else get burned trying to save a few bucks on clippers?

Yeah I bought a cheap clipper once and it yanked out a patch of hair mid cut.

Cheap clippers are basically tiny hair shredders in disguise. Had one rip a literal bald spot right at the back of my head before I even knew it was happening. Never again with that off brand nonsense.
