Question about the way some shops are handling clipper guards

I saw a barber in Charlotte using a #2 guard on a senior client's thin hair and it left visible track marks because he didn't blend up properly, which proves that just slapping on a guard without understanding the hair's texture and growth pattern is a fast track to a bad cut, so what's your go-to method for blending on fine, thinning hair?

Ugh, that's such a common and frustrating mistake to see!

Just hair" until it's your own bad cut.

My barber once took three inches off the top by accident.

Honestly, it's just hair, it grows back.
