Rant: paid $95 for a "stylist certification" weekend class in Dallas that taught me nothing I didn't know from my first year cutting
Six hours of PowerPoint on customer service and zero time on fading or scissor work, so save your money and just watch a good barber cut for an afternoon instead, has anyone else run into these certificate mill classes?

Gotta disagree a bit here. Yeah a lot of those weekend certs are straight up cash grabs, no question, but some shops actually care about the service side too. Fading is something you can drill in your garage, but knowing how to talk to people and keep them coming back is what actually keeps the chair full. Sounds like the one you went to was just a bad version of it though.
