Swapped my usual thinning shears for a straight razor on fades 2 years back
Used to rely on thinning shears to soften those harsh lines, but after a mentor in Chicago showed me how a straight razor creates a smoother blend in half the time, I never looked back. Took me about 10 tries to get the pressure right without irritation though. Anyone else switch tools and notice a big difference in how their fades turn out?

Hell yeah same here. Straight razor changed everything for my fades too.

Man straight razors are the way to go for fades... once you get the hang of it it's night and day. I switched about a year ago and my blends are way cleaner now. Thinning shears always left these weird choppy spots that I'd have to go back and fix. With a straight razor you just glide through and it's done.
