The $9 clipper oil trick that fixed my squeaky trimmer
My Wahl clipper started making this awful squeak about 2 months ago. Tried the usual stuff, taking it apart, cleaning the blades, even used some 3-in-1 oil I had in the garage. Nothing worked. Then one of my older clients, been coming to me for 8 years now, he mentioned using sewing machine oil. Said his grandfather used it on his barber tools back in the 60s. I picked up a small bottle at the fabric store for $9. Put two drops on the blade pivot and ran it for a minute. Squeak was gone instantly. Been a month and it still runs smooth. Anyone else ever tried non-traditional oils on their gear? Curious if there's a downside I should worry about.

Sewing machine oil is basically the same stuff, you're totally fine.
