The day I stopped fighting my clipper lever and started winning
I've been cutting hair for about 4 years now, mostly in my basement setup for friends and family. For the longest time I couldn't get a clean fade past a 1 guard without the lever driving me nuts. Then about 2 months ago a buddy who's a seasoned barber watched me do a cut and asked why I was cranking the lever all the way open every time. He showed me that I only needed to bump it halfway between closed and open to blend better. Now my fades are way smoother and I'm not fighting with the blade gap every 10 seconds. Has anyone else had a simple trick like that blow their mind way later than it should have?

Huh. I mean I guess if it works for you, cool. But honestly I never really thought the lever was that big of a deal. Half the time I don't even touch it.
