TIL my no-show rate hit 18% in March and I finally checked my reminder texts
Ran the numbers last week and 11 of my 62 booked cuts that month just ghosted. Turns out my reminder text went out 24 hours ahead, so guys booked 9am Saturday forgot by Friday night. Switched to a 2 hour heads up text and dropped to 4% in April, saved me about $600 in dead chair time. What window do you all use for reminders?

The thing nobody brings up is the deposit. You can fine tune your text timing all you want but a guy who put 20 bucks down on a $35 cut is way less likely to ghost than a guy who booked with zero skin in the game. I started taking a small deposit at booking for anyone new and my no show rate basically died overnight, way more than any reminder ever did. Reminders help the people who actually forgot, but they do nothing for the people who just changed their mind and didn't feel like calling. Two hour text is smart though, that's close enough that it's on their mind and they'd feel like a jerk blowing you off.
