Tired of rushed fades, I made a rule for myself and it paid off
I used to always squeeze in extra trims when clients asked, even if my schedule was packed. It left me stressed and the haircuts suffered, like that time I botched a fade because I was rushing. So I decided to stop taking last-minute add-ons if I didn't have a proper gap between appointments. At first, I worried about losing business, but it forced me to manage my book better. Now, each cut gets the time it needs, and my fades are sharper than ever. Clients have noticed the improvement and my repeat bookings are up. Making that change was tough, but it saved my sanity and my rep.

Stopped taking those last minute add-ons too. The quality jump was instant, totally saved my week.

I mean, is it really that deep? It just sounds like basic time management. People act like they discovered fire when they just stop overbooking themselves.

@the_diana, it took me THREE days to see the quality jump.

Notice how setting simple limits boosts quality all over. Like when I stopped adding extra chores to my evenings, my downtime actually felt relaxing. Saw a neighbor do this with her garden, focused on a few plants instead of crowding them, and everything grew better. It's the same idea of protecting what matters from noise.
