Why does nobody talk about the hot towel trick for stubborn necklines?

I had a regular with super coarse, curly hair that always left a fuzzy, uneven line after a fade. For months, I'd go over it with the trimmer again and again, wasting time. Last week, I grabbed a clean hot towel from the steamer and held it against his neck for about 30 seconds after the initial cut. The heat and moisture relaxed the hair just enough that when I went back with the detailer, it cut cleanly in one pass. It saved me at least 5 minutes of fussing on that one cut. Has anyone else found a simple trick like this for tough hair textures?

That's a solid barber hack.

Honestly that trick never works for me, it just makes a bigger mess.

Maybe the hack works better on short hair.
