Appreciation post: the 90 day grace period buried in my gym contract in Phoenix
I keep seeing people say gym contracts are all traps, but I read the fine print on mine last month and found a real out. It gives a 90 day window after your year is up to cancel with written notice, and after that they just keep charging month to month. I sent a letter certified mail 11 days before the window closed and they let me out with zero fee. My buddy at the same gym called to cancel and they stuck him with 2 more months at $39 each because he missed the window by a week. The trick is the clause never says the notice has to be on their form, just in writing, so a plain letter works. Anyone else find a cancellation clause that actually favors the customer? Curious how common this is versus the usual runaround.
