My landlord's lease had a 3 day grace period buried on page 6 and I paid $150 in late fees figuring this out

Rented a spot in Boise last year and the lease said rent was due on the 1st, simple enough I thought. Come to find out there was a tiny line on page 6 about a 3 day grace period that only kicks in if you give written notice first, otherwise it's $50 a day. I got hit with $150 in fees over two separate months just from dropping the check off on the 2nd because nobody at the office mentioned this rule when I signed. Now I wonder how many other people are getting nickel and dimed by stuff like this hiding in plain sight. Has anyone actually fought one of these fees and won, or do you just eat it and move on?
