Finally figured out why my grout kept cracking in the shower
Tried 3 different grout brands over 2 years and they all cracked within a month. Turned out I was mixing it too wet - a tile guy at Home Depot in Phoenix told me to aim for a peanut butter consistency, not pancake batter. Has anyone else had this issue with pre-mixed vs powder grout?

Oh man, @morganmartinez you're so right about that! I had the same grout cracking nightmare for months before I realized my "add a little more water" habit from mixing concrete was totally ruining everything. Once I switched to powder and went for that peanut butter texture it held up perfect through like three Arizona summers.

That "wet is better" mindset got me too with my first paver patio. Three bags of sand later and I finally realized concrete and grout are totally different animals. Peanut butter consistency is the real secret, spot on.
