My Uncle Ray taught me to dry-fit tile in his garage in Akron, and I still hear him when a wall won't lay flat
Back when I was 19 my uncle Ray let me help on my first bathroom gut in Akron, and he made me set every 12x12 tile on the floor dry before I touched a drop of thin set. He'd stand there with his coffee saying "measure the room, not the tile," which made no sense to me until I hit a wall that was 3/4 inch out of plumb on my own remodel 15 years later. How do you all handle walls that are way out of square, do you float them out or just start from the high corner and hide it with trim?
