Picked matte black faucet over brushed nickel for our bathroom redo
We went with matte black because my wife saw it on Pinterest and loved it. After 3 months, every water spot shows like crazy, and I'm already wiping it down twice a week. Anyone else regret their fixture finish choice?

Man that stinks, sorry to hear it. We almost went matte black for our kitchen but chickened out at the last second and stuck with chrome. Sounds like the water spots are way worse than I ever imagined. Must be annoying having to wipe it down all the time especially after just a few months. Hopefully it gets easier or you find some trick to make it less of a pain.

My buddy actually went through the same thing last year with his bathroom faucet. He was so excited about the matte black finish and then like a month later he was texting me pictures of these weird white splotches all over it. He tried everything, even bought some special cleaner from Amazon that was supposed to be for matte black fixtures but nothing really worked. He ended up just living with it and now when I go over to his place I can see it's all faded and weird looking in spots. Definitely glad y'all stuck with chrome even if it's boring.

Watched my neighbor install matte black cabinet pulls in his kitchen and within two weeks they looked like he dragged them behind his truck. Water spots, fingerprints, the whole deal. @evan543 It just doesn't hold up unless you're real religious about drying everything off right away. We ended up going with oil rubbed bronze instead and that's been way more forgiving, feels like it hides all the daily grime better.
