Walked into a showroom in Chicago and found a toilet shaped like a throne
I was just looking for a basic white toilet for my half bath remodel. But the salesman kept pushing me toward this giant, throne-like thing with armrests and a fake fur lid. It cost $2,400 and had a built in speaker for royal announcements. I asked if they had anything less medieval, and he just stared at me. Has anyone else run into weird luxury bathroom stuff that makes no sense?

Oh, for goodness sake. A toilet with a speaker for royal announcements, that's just ridiculous! I'm picturing someone sitting there trying to have a peaceful moment and then a loud fanfare blasts out. Honestly, I've been there with strange bathroom stuff. I once accidentally sat on a heated bidet seat at a friend's house and let me tell you, I jumped up so fast I nearly fell over. It felt like the toilet was attacking me. Sometimes I think these companies just make up problems, like "my throne needs to play music," and then charge a fortune for the solution.

The "my throne needs to play music" thing is exactly where we're at now. It's like companies have run out of real problems to solve so they just add features nobody asked for. I noticed this with coffee makers too. Now they've got ones that connect to your phone and brew from an app, but you still gotta get up to pour the water in.

Not gonna lie, smart tech is pretty cool when it actually works right.
