The dollar store oven mitt that fixed my burnt hand problem
My old grill gloves were thin and every time I flipped a pork butt I'd singe my knuckles on the grate. Last Saturday I grabbed a pair of those thick silicone oven mitts from the dollar store in Tulsa for $2.50 just as a joke. They took some getting used to because they're bulky, but I could grab the hot cast iron griddle and move it around like it was nothing. Has anyone else found a cheap tool that ended up working better than the expensive gear?

Wait, you moved a whole cast iron griddle with dollar store mitts? That thing weighs like a small car. I burnt my hand on one once and swore off cast iron forever, so that's honestly impressive.
